disclaimer
Evolution, hereafter known as 'The Game,' was created, and is owned by Jessers, hereafter known as 'The Owner.' The Owner reserves the right to change any and/or all rules, quests, rewards, disciplines, etc. as she sees fit. There is to be no argument regarding her rights to change The Game based upon the evolution of in-game play; anyone who does not agree with this first and foremost regulation is invited to roleplay elsewhere. No rules, quests, rewards, disciplines, etc. will be changed to reflect out of character prejudices or problems which The Owner may be having with any of the individuals currently roleplaying on The Game. The Game was developed solely by The Owner, and all layouts, images, manipulations, quotes, etc. unless otherwise attributed, are copyright The Owner; nothing of The Game, including but not limitied to, the layout, concept, images, manipulations, etc. is to be taken without the express written permission of The Owner. Any individuals who break this rule will be prosecuted according to the laws of internet copyright infringement as explained HERE. As a link explaining what is and is not copyright infringement on the internet has been provided by The Owner, excuses will not be tolerated. If you want to "borrow" or "tweak" something from The Game, it is best to ask The Owner; very rarely does she refuse to help other writers and/or game creators. GENERAL RULES
I. Prejudice, intolerance, and/or derogatory language in reference to any other player on The Game, or in reference to The Owner, will not be permitted anywhere on The Game. Anyone expressing inappropriate views will be immediately requested to leave The Game until further notice. II. The Game is intended to be viewed as an exercise in free expression; The Game is not intended to be used as a podium for political, religious, national, sexist, etc. rants or expression. Friendly discussion on these topics is permitted, however anyone becoming offensive to others will be immediately requested to remove themselves from the offending conversation. III. All writers, regardless of "skill level" or experience will be welcomed into The Game. All that is requested is that every player maintain an open-mind and an acceptance of constructive criticism in relation to the improvement of their writing skill and style. If you are not able to abide by this, this is perhaps not the game for you, and I suggest that you look elsewhere. We are certainly here to have fun, but we are also here because we love writing - and as any good writer knows, criticism and improvements are always needed, wanted, and occasionally, begged for. IV. Please keep all writing to between a PG-13 and R rating; excessive use of curses will not be tolerated, as there are expected to be younger writers who do not need to be exposed to that kind of language amongst the population playing The Game. Occasional cursing, including, but not limited to, George Carlin's "Seven Words You Cannot Say On T.V.," is acceptable, provided the language does not become excessive. No one uses that many curse words in real life. V. The Game is a semi-realistic horse roleplaying game; this means that during the course of the game there may be such things as magick, mythical "transformations," psychokinetic powers, etc. but absolutely no character is permitted to join with any of the above. Please see "Phase One" (which is the Current Phase on The Game) for a full explanation of what is currently going on within The Game in relation to the evolution of the characters. VI. Characters from other roleplaying sites, as well as old, semi-retired characters from past roleplaying sites, are acceptable; however, whatever accomplishments, powers, relationships, etc. they may have on other sites are completely irrelevant on The Game, and therefore they must be played as is they are an entirely new character. For lack of a better comparison, consider their memory to have been "wiped" from the moment they are a member of The Game. VII. No character may be killed by another character without the express permission of the player. phases in gameplayI. Phases are complete on the final day of each month at 11:59:59pm EST. You must have turned your crystals in at your phase's CRYSTAL AREA prior to this time to Evolve at the EVOLUTION AREA with all others who have reached their evolutionary requirements. All characters who are permitted to Evolve will be notified in the Evolution Area and will be granted access to the next phase of their evolution. All characters who did not meet the evolutionary requirements for that phase during the prior month will have another month to gain crystals, exchange them for evolutionary "milestones," and progress toward their own evolution to the next Phase. II. There is absolutely no time constraint to The Game: you may finish all of your evolutionary requirements in two weeks, or you may still be in your first phase after three months of gameplay. The Game is dictated by the amount of time and energy you are capable of putting into your character. III. There are currently Three Phases in this Cycle of The Game: The Herdlands, The Harem Lands, and The Kingdoms. Each Phase has certain evolutionary milestones which you must accomplish before you are permitted to move to the next Phase. You attain these evolutionary milestones by gaining crystals, which will be logged by The Owner and which can be traded for anything from Speech (40 Crystals) to Mystical Transformation (650 Crystals). Each phase has required milestones and optional milestones: spend your stones WISELY, for once you have progressed out of a Phase, you cannot access those milestones again. IV. Each Phase has Phase specific locations and Phase Specific requirements for those locations. Please read the instructions carefully on each page until you are familiar with each Phase's requirements. breedingI. All breeding is done in specified breeding locations throughout The Game. Breeding done within the Herd, Harem, or Kingdom unless otherwise specified is not viable breeding, and will not result in the production of offspring. II. You may only breed to members of your current Phase. There are no exceptions to this rule, as to accomplish a mating between a Phase One character and a Phase Two character would require the crossing of the boundaries for those Phases, which is a strict no-no. III. Offspring do not inherit the current Phase placement or milestones of their parents; instead, they inherit the previous Phase placement of their parents, and the milestones which their parents began that Phase with. For example: Two Phase Three horses would produce a Phase Two foal, who would begin Phase Two with the Phase One milestones of its' parents. Two Phase Two horses would produce a Phase One foal, who would not have accomplished any milestones; and two Phase One horses would produce the same (a Phase One foal without milestones). There are to be no exceptions to this rule unless otherwise notated on The Game. challenges and battleI. All battles are roleplaying battles; there are to be no "dice decided" battles upon The Game. The specific rules for each battle are decided by the combatants (such as length of battle or number of posts, number of attacks and/or defenses allowed, etc.); however, general Challenge rules are as follows: if a challenge is not answered within three days, it is an automatic forfeit of the character who did not answer unless said character is recognized as being AWAY. Challenges must be completed within a week of their instigation. All challenges must be reviewed and the winner decided by either The Owner, or an individual whom The Owner will appoint for such a purpose. II. No character may kill another character without the permission of the player. Any player caught doing so without permission will immediately be asked to remove themselves from the game. III. Purposes for challenges can be amongst any of the following: Rank, Territory, Pride, Training, Mate, Herd/Harem, or they may be character specific. The purpose for each challenge must be clearly stated, so that the judge of the challenge can reward the winner with the agreed upon prize. IV. Within Phase One, battles are gender specific: Stallions may only battle Stallions, and Mares may only battle Mares. There are no exceptions to this rule. V. As yet, there are no raids permitted. When gameplay moves forward such that raids will be acceptable, rules will be posted here. CRYSTALSI. Phase specific regulations and rewards of crystals are located HERE; please refer to this list for your own edification.
